The View From Here

I’ve always been a window gazer. I was the girl at the back of the classroom, daydreaming out the window, occasionally needing to be brought back to the lesson. Some things never change.

One of my favorite things about living at Tahilla Farm is the view from our windows. Over the years, we’ve brought the feeling of the meadow closer to the house, planting grasses and perennials that reflect the landscape beyond.

Now that the fields have been mowed and the garden is fading, I love that little whisper of meadow still lingering outside our windows. Just as beautiful to me as the garden in full summer bloom, and there’s still winter to come.

Big window, small window, a whole landscape or a single branch. It’s what catches your eye and makes you stop for a moment. I’m still that girl, daydreaming out the window. Only now, I get to choose what I’m looking at.

Do you have a favorite window? What’s your view? 🌿
